ASMR stands for Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response, and ASMR videos have become popular online in the survivor community. These are videos simply of simple sounds that are repetitive in nature, or an unfolding in some way, or part of an experience that seemed to interact with the nervous system in a way that is very grounding or orienting, calming or comforting. It doesn't work for everyone, and it may not be your thing. And that's okay. But because this can be a particularly difficult season, and because we've learned if nothing else in 2020 how important it is to feel connected to someone else. We recorded the morning sounds from a tent in our front yard. So there's no other talking other than this introduction in this episode. And if ASMR is not your thing, you can skip the rest of this episode. But for those who would like a calming sound or some ASMR to help get through the end of the holiday season that has been challenging for many of us and triggering for some, maybe this will be helpful. It's one way to be present with each other.
The sounds are simple. It was just recorded inside the tent early in the morning as the birds woke up. So you just hear this sounds of nature. There's a light humming sound in the far background that you can hear from the highway, as an interstate goes past our home a couple miles away. But mostly you'll just hear the birds waking up, and those morning sounds as the chickens start to move about. It's just in the country. Super simple like all ASMR videos usually are. But hopefully it will give you something calming to rest. Maybe take a nap when sleeping for some of us is hard, or some other way to relax. Enjoy.
[Sounds of birds for the remainder of the episode]
